The ancient library of Alexandria, the equivalent of wikipedia to the old world. This must have been heaven on earth! Tons of good reading I bet. The Ptolemies would grant visitors a place to stay and a stipend for their families. This probably created a research center as well. Both the main library and its sister one were completey obliterated over a thousand years ago...too bad... so we decided to hit the beach instead.

Alexandria had more of a relaxed atmosphere. Plus finally some Starbucks!(hadn't had coffee in a week) Overpriced coffee never tasted so good!

Chris and I met some cool Aussies on the felucca in Aswan. When we returned from Alexandria, the boys and I hit up some tofah (apple) sheesha in Cairo. The end of Ramadan was over but the party was still going on in the streets!
